New Image of the ‘Tulkun’ Sea Creature From The Way of Water Released

Empire Magazine continues their exclusive coverage of Avatar: The Way of Water following the reveals of Ronal and Kiri over the last couple of days.

Today’s image is a close up of the “Tulkun” whale we saw in a couple shots in the trailer, and they included a pretty cool quote from Cameron about the four sequels to go with it:

“What I said to the Fox regime at the time was, ‘I’ll do it, but we’ve got to play a larger game here. I don’t want to just do a movie and do a movie and do a movie. I want to tell a bigger story’,” he explains. That meant a comparison with a certain literary saga. “I said, ‘Imagine a series of novels like The Lord Of The Ringsexisted, and we’re adapting them.’ Now, that was great in theory, but then I had to go create the frickin’ novels from which to adapt it.”

The previously leaked titles for the upcoming sequels feature the Tulkun, which means we’ll probably see seeing more of this big whale beyond just Avatar: The Way of Water.
